Millennium Locksmiths | COVID-19 Statement - Millennium Locksmiths

We are still working, if you have a lock problem – call us.

Everyone’s talking about Coronavirus / COVID-19 so here’s what Millennium Locksmiths is doing:

We are still working. We feel that with all the worries in life at the moment security doesn’t need to be one of them. If you have a lock problem – please call us.

We are taking precautions. In fact, we have always prided ourselves in being clean and tidy. Tim’s long army career has fine-tuned his natural fastidiousness.

  • We wear nitrile gloves whilst at your property.
  • In most cases, we are attending a problem with an external door, so in reality, we need come no further than your doormat. We won’t be offended if you keep your distance whilst we are there.
  • We will need you to sign the job sheet once work is complete if you could have your own pen handy that would be great.
  • Payment is due on completion of the work and should be made by a card or bank transfer. We have a card machine which is cleaned regularly. We cannot accept cheques or cash currently.

At a time when many people have been made redundant or furloughed, there are many opportunists out there to take advantage of your lock problems and emergencies.  We have seen a rise in the number of customers complaining of rogue or unqualified tradesmen who are ill-equipped to complete work satisfactorily.  If you are looking for some help with a lock problem, we advise that you take extra care and precautions.  Signs to look out for are:

  • Red flag alerts with misleading headline fees of £39 / £49 / £59, these are initially quoted to get the booking.  Once on site, the prices escalate with additional issues and parts.
  • Look for accreditations such as Which, Checkatrade & Trading Standards Approved Logos
  • Chose a reputable local locksmith, Trading Standards approval or other recognised trade associations.
  • Look at the number of reviews on various platforms to get a balanced view. If they are not on Google my Business with reviews, ask yourself why?
  • Are they a genuine locksmith? Some companies are a jack of all trades and are not geared to complete work on the first visit.
  • Does the locksmith turn up in a car and a drill in hand? If they do, think twice before letting them loose on your locks. A reputable locksmith will carry a wide stock of parts, locks and mechanisms which is ideally suited to be stored securely in a van

We are taking precautions. In fact, we have always prided ourselves in being clean and tidy. Tim’s long army career has fine-tuned his natural fastidiousness.

Hopefully the above demonstrates that we are keen to keep risks as low as possible and shown that Millennium Locksmiths really are ‘Locksmiths You Can Trust’.
